When there’s a sea of data to analyze and interpret, Adrianne is never afraid to dive in. A Masters swimmer and triathlete, Adrianne brings the same discipline and focus to her work that she has in the pool. Adrianne’s group develops the proprietary PV grid-simulation software that’s used throughout SunPower. Whether predicting the energy a prospective system will generate or projecting the efficiency boost that might result from changing a design element, the application is an integral part of SunPower’s project and product development cycles.

“Some of our solar products are very unique, so we can’t just buy a modeling tool off the shelf,” Adrianne says. “The application is never a static thing; we’re continuously developing new models that go into the software to describe new products under development.” When not tinkering with code and sitting in on meetings, Adrianne loves visiting customer sites and seeing the results of her team’s efforts. “It was amazing when the Bavaria Solar 1 project was turned on: They installed 60,000 SunPower panels generating 10.1 MW of power. Seeing this huge, groundbreaking system, helping to complete the testing, and closing the deal with the customer – that was one of the high points of my career.”

Adrianne says there have been many other such moments in her 7+ years at SunPower. What floats her boat? Being part of an organization that’s changing the world. “I feel like the people here are really motivated to do their best,” she says. “It’s a joy to work in an environment where everyone is dedicated to doing their job well, and helping others to do the same.”
