As Italians like to say, “The sun rises and provides energy every day.” With sunny skies practically year-round, the solar market in Italy is heating up – and Andrea drives SunPower’s sale efforts throughout the country. Whether negotiating million-dollar deals with banks, private equity firms, project developers and utilities, conferring with SunPower’s sales execs in other European countries, or developing new business, Andrea puts his people-skills to work every day.

“I’m best at negotiations,” Andrea says. “I’ve had some good experience in my past jobs, which gave me different ways to see the same thing: the energy needs of the planet. After spending ten years in oil and gas, I kind of view my experiences at SunPower as ‘redemption’ – and a way to live the green revolution.”

When not closing sales in Rome and Milan, Andrea prefers to spend time at home with his wife Mara, and his “little princess,” his three-year-old daughter Sofia. Mara works as a business developer for a renewable investment fund; together she and Andrea are known to friends as “the solar couple.” “It’s so exciting to work at SunPower,” Andrea says. “I’m so happy to be a part of the recognized world leader in the solar market; a company that’s not just selling a commodity, but also investing in R&D and engineering. In the evening Mara and I have a lot to talk about over dinner!”
