Arizona Solar Power Incentives
While several of the utility companies in Arizona offer incentives for commercial solar installations, customers within the APS utility territory have access to the most attractive Arizona incentives for larger commercial solar installations.
Non-Residential Production Based Incentives
APS Production Based Incentives (PBIs) provide solar rebates based on the amount of electricity that your solar energy system produces. These rebates are paid quarterly based each kilowatt-hour of electricity produced.
There are two annual allocation periods for the available APS incentive funds: March 1st and September 1st. PBI reservation requests are submitted by the future owner of a solar electric power project as a bid expressed in dollars per kilowatt-hour. Each applicant may request up to the maximum incentive level as indicated on the APS specific reservation application, however, if the total amount of the bids submitted exceed the available APS funding, bids are evaluated against each other using the
APS PBI Ranking Calculator.
Additional details about the APS Standard PBIs:
- Available for solar systems that are larger than 100 kilowatts and less than 2 megawatts or for systems that with a lifetime incentive commitment of greater than $2.5 million
- PBI payout is capped at 60% of total project cost
- Lowest incentive bids are funded first
- Project incentive requests are funded up to available budget
